Martin Luther College announces Schibbelhut Breaks MLC Record in the Pole Vault at Morris
RESULTS
Morris, MN - MLC men's track and field had an added meet on Friday, April 28 at Minnesota-Morris. The meet consisted of the Knights, Morris, and Northwestern and was just for field events.
The men were led by Micah Schibbelhut in the Pole Vault, who placed first in the event. In addition to the top spot, the junior also broke an MLC school record in the event, with his mark of 3.85 meters. Schibbelhut surpassed the previous recordholder, Dan Lange, who held the record for just over 20 years. Lange's mark of 3.83 was done on April 5, 2003 at the Sioux Falls meet.
Along with Schibbelhut, Seth Veers would claim first in the long jump with a mark of 5.88 meters. Martin Raasch was right behind Veers in the event, taking second (4.70 meters).
Jeremiah Stanton continued his impressive freshman season by taking first in the triple jump, with a top jump of 12.06 meters.
The other notable performance from MLC men came in the javelin by Christopher Crenshaw. The senior came in second with a top throw of 40.24, which had behind the leader by 0.9 meters.
As a team, MLC finished second out of the three schools behind Minnesota-Morris. The Knights had a team score of 115.5.
