Marquette University announces Track & Field Set for 2023 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships

MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men's and women's track & field teams head to Villanova, Pa. May 11-13 for the 2023 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships Presented by Jeep.
The meet will be held at Jumbo Elliot Track located on the Villanova campus.
The three-day event will kick off Thursday at 9 a.m. CT with the heptathlon, decathlon, hammer throw and 10,000m. The meet will continue at 8:30 a.m. on Friday with 32 events throughout the day. The conference championships will conclude on Saturday with the final 28 events and an award ceremony.
General admission to the event on Friday and Saturday starts at $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Additionally, BIG EAST students with their student ID and children under three are free, and there is no admission charge for Thursday's events. Tickets for the event can be bought here.

TOP BIG EAST MARKS
MU heads to the BIG EAST Championships with some of the top marks in the conference.
At the Wisconsin Classic, Mitchell Van Vooren recorded the No. 2 mark in the conference in the 400m hurdles with a personal best time of 52.63. His time is No. 3 all-time in program history. Van Vooren's win at Wisconsin marked his third victory of the season in the 400m hurdles.
In the high jump, Harry Baker won at the Wisconsin Classic with a mark of 1.98m/6-6 ft. His mark is third best in the conference. In her second-place finish at Houston, Annika Bynum recorded a mark of 1.67m/5-5.75 ft., the fourth-best in the conference. Emma Ludwig holds the No. 5 mark of 1.65m/5-5 ft.
Alex Lesperance achieved the No. 4 mark in the long jump at Wisconsin. Lesperance jumped a distance of 6.95m/22-5.75 ft.
Adam Schommer cleared a height of 4.76m/15-7.25 ft. in the pole vaults at the Gibson Invitational. That mark is third best in the BIG EAST.
Vinnie Voudrie enters with top five marks in the conference in both the discus and hammer throw. In the discus, he currently holds the No. 4 spot in the BIG EAST with a mark of 47.04m/154-4 ft. His mark of 54.23m/177-11 ft. in the hammer throw is fifth best.
Both the men's and women's 4x100m relay teams currently have the No. 4 times in the BIG EAST. The men's team of Lesperance, Justin Juniel, Sebastian Obrzut and Julian Wright posted a time of 42.20 at the Drake Relays. On the women's side, Ja'Miah Cochran, Siani Brown-Carr, Payton Hanselman and Juru Okwaramoi clocked a time of 47.66 at Wisconsin.
