Lenoir-Rhyne University announces Patrick Earns SAC Pitcher of the Week Award

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne's Andrew Patrick was named Varsity Gems Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week eight of the 2023 season, the Conference office announced today.

Patrick, a senior right-hander from Catawba, N.C., was nearly untouchable in his lone outing of the week, leading the Bears to a 4-0 win over Mars Hill. He threw seven innings to earn the win, allowing no runs on four hits with 12 strikeouts and just one walk. With the victory, Patrick improved to a 3-1 record on the season as he tossed a season-high 121 pitches.

It is the first time this season that a LR pitcher has earned the award.
