BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh fifth-year outfielder Casey Rother has been named to the American Baseball Coaches Association All-East Region first team, announced earlier this week by the ABCA. One of the finest offensive players to ever don the brown and white, Rother's all-region honor comes after becoming a three-time first team All-Patriot League selection last month.

The ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Teams are voted on by head coaches in the region. The East Region is comprised of schools from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio, West Virginia and Washington, D.C.

The Patriot League Player of the Year in 2021 and 2022, Rother rewrote the Lehigh record books during the 2023 campaign. The only Mountain Hawk to start all 50 games, Rother batted .342 with 66 hits, and set program records with 15 home runs and 64 RBIs. He added 17 doubles, 41 runs scored, 28 walks and ranked second in the Patriot League with a 1.101 OPS.

In one weekend at Holy Cross in mid-April, Rother became Lehigh's career leader in both home runs and RBIs, finishing his career with 32 long balls and 168 runs batted in. Rother is the sixth member of Lehigh's 200-hit club, finishing second in program history with 234. He also ranks in the top five in program history in games played (189), at-bats (723), and doubles (47).

Rother's selection gives Lehigh an ABCA All-Region honoree for the third straight season, as he joins pitchers Luke Rettig (2022) and Mason Black (2021). He is the seventh Lehigh baseball player to earn ABCA All-Region honors, joining Rettig, Black, Jacen Nalesnik (2017), Mike Garzillo (2015), Matt McBride (2006) and Eric Hoffman (2002).
