Lees Mcrae College announces Softball Voted Eighth in Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll

Lees-McRae softball, under head coach Kendall Fuller, has been picked to finish eighth in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll as announced by the league office this morning. Hannah Foster, Megan Powell, and Jada Wilson were all named Conference Carolinas Preseason Players to Watch this season.

King, the reigning tournament champion, and Mount Olive, who shared the regular season title with the Tornado last season, each received 132 points in the poll while King garnered 6-of-13 first-place votes while the Trojans collected four such votes. Francis Marion was picked third with 112 points and one first-place vote while Emmanuel was chosen fourth with 100 points and a first-place nod. Belmont Abbey rounded out the top five with 94 points.

The Bobcats finished the 2022 season with a 20-25 overall record and 13-11 in conference contests. Lees-McRae softball was honored with the Conference Carolinas All-Sportsmanship after being nominated by the Francis Marion softball team for going above and beyond in their efforts to help the Patriots between two games played in Florence, South Carolina amid inclement weather.

Lees-McRae softball begins its season on Wednesday, Feb. 8 with a trip to Gaffney, South Carolina for a doubleheader with Limestone.
