Lees Mcrae College announces Buckner Collects Freshman of the Month Honors

Lees-McRae softball freshman standout Grayson Buckner was named the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month after combining for 27 hits in March and is currently on a nine-game hitting streak for the Bobcats.
 
A freshman utility/pitcher from Elkview, West Virginia, Buckner currently leads the Bobcats with a .484 batting average, 45 hits, on-base percentage, and total bases in 32 games played on the campaign.  Buckner is third among Conference Carolinas athletes in batting average and has an on-base percentage plus slugging (OPS) of 1.311.

Buckner has also made 10 appearances in the circle for Lees-McRae with a 5.22 season ERA and 19 strikeouts in 29.1 innings pitched.

Lees-McRae completed a two-game sweep of UVA Wise yesterday and records a 21-13 overall record and 8-4 in league standings through the first week of April
