Lebanon Valley College announces Lebanon Valley Softball Voted as Favorites in MAC Commonwealth Poll

The Lebanon Valley softball team was voted to finished atop the conference in 2023 with the release of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Commonwealth Preseason Poll on Tuesday by the conference office.

The Dutchmen received six of the nine first place votes from the other eight conference coaches and topped the poll with 61 points. Last spring, LVC finished in a three-way tie in the conference standings at 11-5, defeated York College of Pennsylvania in the first game of the conference tournament and then dropped a pitcher's duel to Messiah University in the final. This season, the title will go through Annville with LVC hosting the MAC Commonwealth Championships in their final season in the conference.

York was second with 56 points and two first place votes while Messiah was third with 50 points and the last first place vote. Eastern University was slated fourth with 38 points and Stevenson University was fifth with 33 points. Alvernia University was picked to finish sixth with 31 points, Hood College was seventh with 26 points, Widener University was eighth with 21 points, and Albright College rounded out the poll with eight points.

LVC will begin the season in Florida with eight games against quality opponents from March 5-11. Conference play begins on March 25 with the team's home opener against Alvernia. The Dutchmen will be home eight times this season before hosting the conference tournament.
