Lebanon Valley College announces Dutchmen Softball has Four Named to 2023 Academic All-District® Team

The Lebanon Valley softball team had four student-athletes named to the Academic All-District® Softball Team as announced this week by College Sports Communicators (CSC) in a release by the professional organization.
 
The Academic All-District® Baseball Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on June 6.
 
The four Dutchmen honorees are Julia Craig, Danni Holmes, Lexi Smith, and Jordan Walter.
 
Craig is a junior business administration major from Chino Hills, California. She was named to the All-MAC Commonwealth Team as a second team selection last year and was an honorable mention as a first-year. This year, Craig has played in 39 games at first base and recorded a .322 batting average with 39 hits including 10 doubles and a home run. She has knocked in 26 runs and scored 18.
 
Holmes is a junior exercise science major from Locustdale, Pennsylvania. She played in 14 games this year and recorded a .289 batting average with 11 hits including three doubles. Holmes scored 11 runs and knocked in five as a catcher.
 
Smith is a sophomore exercise science major from Westminster, Maryland. She earned All-MAC Commonwealth honors at second base this season. Smith played in 35 games and recorded a .407 batting average with 46 hits including one double and one triple. She knocked in 12 runs and scored 21 times.
 
Walter is a junior English and political science major from Lebanon, Pennsylvania. She was named the MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Year this season and earned she second All-Commonwealth Team honor after leading the conference with a 1.17 earned-run average. Walter recorded a 17-3 record with two saves while striking out 103 batters in 137.1 innings pitched.
