Lane College announces Lambert named First Team All-Region

For the first time since 2015, and only the second time in school history, a Lane College softball player has been named to the NCAA Division II All-Region Team.

Millay Lambert, who was named SIAC Player of the Year, was voted First Team Utility Player for the South Region. Lambert was one of two players from the SIAC to earn All-Region honors, but the only one to be named to the First Team. It is the first All-Region selection for the Dragons since Hall of Famer Jasmine McNeal earned the honor in 2015.

Lambert was the only player to appear and start in all 50 games this season for Lane. Throughout the season, she played catcher and all three positions in the outfield. The Florence, AL native finished the season with a league high 65 hits and 57 runs. She collected 109 total bases, drove in 56 RBI, and hit eight home runs, all good for second best in the SIAC, while carrying a .406 batting average. The senior added 14 doubles, three triples, and eight stolen bases.

In addition being named conference Player of the Year, she was SIAC Utility Player of the Year, Lane College Athlete of the Year, and Jackson-Madison County Hall of Fame Female Athlete of the Year.
