Lander University announces Kamryn Akins named PBC Freshman of the Week

Lander University pitcher Kamryn Akins has been named the Peach Belt Softball Freshman of the Week, the conference office announced Wednesday. 

Kam had a career day on Saturday, helping the Bearcats defeat #2 North Georgia, throwing her first career complete game. She shut the Nighthawks out, allowing just four hits and striking out three as the Bearcats snapped a 35-game losing streak to North Georgia.
