Lander University announces Emily Allen named PBC Softball Freshman of the Week

Emily Allen has been named Peach Belt Freshman of the Week the conference office announced Monday afternoon.

Emily had a career week as the freshman helped Lander to a 5-0 record and their second-straight PBC series sweep. In game one against North Greenville on Wednesday, Emily finished 2-2 with a double, run scored, and a career-high four runs driven in. On Saturday, in the first game against USC Beaufort, she went 2-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. In the final game of the series, Emily hit her first career home run as she finished 3-3 and was a double shy of hitting for the cycle while driving in two runs and scoring two in the 8-0 win. For the week, Allen hit .583 (7-12) with a double, triple, home run, seven runs scored and eight RBIs, and an OPS of 1.750.
