Lander University announces Cougars defeat Bearcats in series opener

Columbus State defeated Lander 11-3 Friday evening in the opening game of a Peach Belt Conference softball series. 

Gracie Derrick led the Bearcats' offense, going 2-2 with a double and three RBIs, while Shannon Antonini was 2-2 with a run scored. Bailey Pattison (6-3) took the loss, allowing eight runs on nine hits in 1.2 innings of work. 

The two teams will conclude their series with a doubleheader tomorrow beginning at 1:00 PM.
