Lancaster Bible College announces Trio of Chargers Earn United East Player of the Week

The Lancaster Bible College athletics department had a good day on Monday after three Charger student-athletes were named United East Player of the Week. Women's lacrosse scored two honorees after their 15-13 win against Notre Dame (Md.) on Saturday. Junior Katelynn Perrotta was named the Offensive Player of the Week while teammate and senior Kym Kouterick was named the Defensive Player of the Week. The third honoree was junior shortstop Phoebe Clemens who helped lead her team to a 4-4 overall record after their time in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The women's lacrosse team earned a hard fought 15-13 victory over the Gators of Notre Dame (Md.) on Saturday, their second win of the season. The Chargers were led by Perrotta on the offensive side who had a game high and season high six goals and three assists. Perrotta also tallied three ground balls and two caused turnovers to help out defensively. Perrotta leads the Chargers this season with 11 goals and four assists thus far.
Kouterick was a force on the defensive side on Saturday after she picked up five ground balls and caused three turnovers. Not only was she clutch defensively, but the senior got things done on the offensive side too scoring two timely goals in the final minutes of the second half giving the Chargers a two-point cushion to end the game.
The third honoree, junior Phoebe Clemens, started off the 2023 season strong in the batter's box hitting .567 with 17 hits and 14 runs. In those hits, she knocked in eight RBI's and added a double and triple. Defensively, Clemens had eight putouts and 22 assists while turning two double plays. Clemens and the team finished the week 4-4 to begin the season.
With all spring teams back from their spring break trips, the teams will be back in action this week as baseball is the first program to be at home on Wednesday, March 13 at 3:00 p.m. versus Neumann.
