Kentucky Wesleyan College announces Brandon Valdez named to All-Conference Third Team
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Junior shortstop Brandon Valdez has been named to the 2023 G-MAC All-Conference Third Team.
The transfer from Kaskaskia College (Ill.) has lit up the diamond this season. After missing the first few weeks due to injury, Valdez has come out and established himself as a key member of this year's Panther squad, leading the team with a .353 batting average, and being successful on 13 of his 14 steal attempts this season. In just 39 games played, he has notched 48 hits, 38 runs, nine doubles, two triples, and four home runs. He has a slugging percentage of .537 and leads the team with a on base percentage of .444.
His batting prowess was on full display in a four-game series against Cedarville earlier this year, where he went 8-for-14 with 13 RBI's, nine runs scored, three doubles and a home run. This included a series opening game where he set a new school record with eight RBI's in a single game.
Valdez and the Panthers look to continue their season tonight when they take on #1 seeded Northwood in the G-MAC Tournament.
