Johnson & Wales University announces Lyons tabbed GNAC Softball Rookie of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Freshman Mady Lyons has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Rookie of the Week.

Lyons went 2-for-3 in her collegiate debut with a pair of RBI singles in a 4-1 win over Thomas (ME) College on Sunday in Auburndale, Florida. She pushed across the Wildcats second run of the afternoon with a single to center in the second before lacing a run-scoring single to right in the sixth.

The Wildcats (2-0) play Carnegie Mellon and Otterbein on Monday at the Auburndale Sports Complex.
