Husson University announces Men’s track & field concludes Maine State Championships with strong showing

STANDISH, Maine — The Husson University men's track & field team turned in a solid performance at the Maine State Championships on Saturday paced by a pair of top-five performances from sophomore's Jeremy Stone and Conner DeCourt

 
Stone began the Eagles scoring by finishing fourth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:58.72, breaking his own program-record of 11:09.56 set as last year's North Atlantic Conference Championship. 
 
DeCourt finished fourth in the 400 meters with a mark of 51.50, while also recording a sixth-place podium in the 200 meters with a time of 23.26, setting a personal-best in the event.
 
Freshman Jacob Ramos ran to an eighth-place performance in the 800 meters, clocking a 2:01.57 and breaking his own personal-best mark of 2:02.20 set at the AIC Yellowjacket Invitational earlier this spring. 
 
Sixth year Zach Hartman clocked a 16:34.97 to finish seventh in the 5000-meter run, while the Eagles 4x400-meter relay team of DeCourt, Ramos, sophomore Hunter Clarke and Hartman finished fourth with a time of 3:40.81.
 
Senior Josh Hart concluded Husson's showing at the Maine State Championships, finishing seventh in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.00 meters. 
 
Next up for the Eagles the NAC Championships on Apr. 29 and 30.
