Howard University announces Women’s Swimming & Diving Grabs a Pair of Wins on NEC Championships Day Three

GENEVA, Ohio (February 23, 2023) – Howard University women's swimming & diving team grabbed a pair of wins on Day Three of the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships in Geneva, Ohio.

 
The 200 Free Relay squad of juniors Isabella Fountain (White Plains, N.Y.) and Michaela Spears (Chicago), sophomore Kelsey Roberson (West Orange, N.J.) and freshman Zuilda Nwaeze (Columbia, Md.) capped off the night with a victory, clocking in at a new facility mark of 1:32.63.
 
Individually, Nwaeze, along with fellow classmate Kali Garcia (Altamonte, Fla.), competed in the 200 Free where they finished third (1:49.39) and eighth (1:54.32), respectively.
 
Senior Courtney Connolly (White Lake, Mich.) took home gold in the 100 Fly (55.45).
 
After three days, HU sits in third place with 280 points. Central Connecticut State leads the field for the third straight day with 372 points, followed by Wagner College (333).
 
The action continues Friday (Feb. 24), beginning with the prelims at 10 a.m., followed by the final round at 6 p.m.
