Howard University announces Jackson Tied for First at the Lady Bison Invitational

BALTIMORE (April 10, 2023) – Howard University sophomore standout Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) sits atop the player leaderboard at the Lady Bison Invitational, hosted by HU. The squad played 36 holes at the Baltimore Country Club at Five Farms (par-72, 6127 yards).
Jackson, reigning Northeast Conference Women's Golf Player of the Week, opened the tournament 2-under par (70), including four birdies in the first round. Next round, the Texas native shot even par (36) during the front nine but suffered two double bogeys on 16 and 18 to close the day.
Freshman Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) finished the afternoon strong with back-to-back 4-over par (76) performances. Currently, the Los Angeles native sits tied for sixth in the standings.
Fellow classmate Morgan Horrell (Dallas) stands tied for 16th overall after posting a 75 (-3) and 81 (+9) in the first two rounds.
Collectively, HU shot 33-over par (302-307, 609) during the two rounds. Currently, the Bison sit in second place, five strokes behind crosstown rival Georgetown (604, +28).
Individually, Merrimack College's Prakruthi Sastry shares the lead with Jackson. Georgetown's Megan Gormley trails one stroke after recording a 146 (+2).
Howard closes out the tournament Tuesday (April 11) with the third round, starting at 9 a.m.
