Howard University announces Jackson Places Seventh at the Ironwood Invite

GREENVILLE, N.C. (April 4, 2023) – Howard University sophomore Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) placed seventh overall at the 2023 Ironwood Invitational, hosted by East Carolina University (ECU) at the Ironwood Country Club (Par-72, 6266 yards) in Greenville, N.C.
The Texas native shot 2-under par (70) in round three, including three birdies on the afternoon. During the two-day, 54-hole event, Jackson registered 1-under par (215) with nine birdies and an eagle.
Graduate Kyra Cox (South Salem, N.Y.) recorded 6-over par (78) in round three and tied for 24th overall in the player leaderboard (222, +6).
After a tough front nine, second-year Bison Makenna Rodriguez (Delray Beach, Fla.) got into a groove during the back nine, finishing round three with three birdies and shooting 4-over par (76).
Overall, HU shot 14-over par (302) in the final round and finished tied for sixth in the team standings (892, +28).
James Madison (JMU) won the 2023 Ironwood Invitational after shooting an impressive 10-under par (278) in round three. Collectively, JMU won the event by 19 strokes over No. 46 College of Charleston (867, +3).
JMU's Amelia Williams took home the individual medal, producing a 207 (9-under par) in three rounds. Teammate Kendall Turner finished runner-up with a 209 score (7-under par).
On April 10-11, HU heads to Baltimore for the Lady Bison Invitational, hosted by Howard.
