Howard University announces Jackson, Cox Set to Represent Howard at the Annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (FEBRUARY 26, 2023) - The Howard University Women's Golf Team will send graduate Kyra Cox (South Salem, N.Y.) and sophomore Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) to South Carolina to compete in the annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Golf Tournament, hosted by the University of South Carolina.
 
The three-day event (Feb. 27-March 1) will talk place at the Long Cove Club in Hilton Head Island, S.C.

TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
 
South Carolina will be hosting the 11th Annual Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Golf Tournament. This event is currently one of the most renowned collegiate golf tournaments for women in the nation.
 
The tournament will feature participants from 18 teams: Howard; South Carolina; Arizona State University; Auburn University; Baylor University; Duke University; Furman University; Louisiana State University; Northwestern University; University of Alabama; University of Arkansas;  University of Georgia; University of Kentucky; University of Oregon; University of Texas; University of Virginia; Vanderbilt University and Wake Forest University.
 
Jackson secured her spot by tying for 17th while Cox earned her position by finishing in the top 50.
 
Last season, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate Championship was won by Carolina Lopez-Chacarra, a freshman at Wake Forest.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
On March 13-14, the team returns to action in Daytona Beach, Fla., for the Sacred Heart Spring Break Invitational, hosted by the Pioneers.
