Houston Christian University announces T&F: Rabius Named Southland Indoor Student-Athlete of the Year

HCU senior picks up the conference’s top academic honor

Senior Jessica Rabius closed out the 2023 indoor season on the track by being named Southland Conference Women's Outstanding Running Events Performer and on Friday she was named the league's Women's Indoor Student-Athlete of the Year, receiving the league's top academic honor.
 
Rabius earned the Outstanding Running Events Performer on the back of a 2023 SLC Indoor Championships performance that included a spot atop the podium in both the mile and the 3,000 meters and a silver medal in the Distance Medley Relay. For the entirety of the indoor season, she ran the fastest time in the conference in the 800 meters and the second-fastest in both the mile and 3000m. She personally set new program records in the 800m, the mile and the 3000m this season and was part of a new record in the women's DMR, as well.
 
Rabius is currently working toward her MBA-Healthcare Administration and has already received an MS-Sport Management degree and a bachelor's in kinesiology.
