Hope College announces Women's Indoor Track and Field Rises to 11th in National Rating Index

The Hope College women's indoor track and field team rocketed up this week's United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association Rating Index, rising seven spots to 11th.
The index is compiled by qualifying marks for the 2023 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
In the national poll, Hope totaled 64.45 points. The University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse is first for the second week in a row with 243.47 points.
In the Great Lakes Regional poll, the Flying Dutch moved up two spots to second with 229.46 points. 196.78 points. The University of Mount Union (Ohio) is first with 463.25 points.
Hope, the highest-ranked MIAA team nationally and regionally, is ranked nationally in five events.
Senior Ana Tucker (Midland, Michigan / H.H. Dow) remains ranked first in the 3,000 meters, stands third in the 5,000 meters and is ninth in the mile.
Hope's distance medley relay of senior Ellie Jankowski (Granger, Indiana / Penn), senior Grace Behrens (Mishawaka, Indiana / Trinity School at Greenlawn), senior Samantha Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / T. C. West), and Tucker is fourth nationally.
Freshman Sara Schermerhorn (Traverse City, Michigan / T.C. West) is 21st in the 200 meters.
The Flying Dutch are competing at two different meets this weekend: Friday, Feb. 10, at 5 p.m. at Aquinas College and Friday-Saturday, Feb. 10-11, at Grand Valley State University.
