Hope College announces Ana Tucker Clocks Nation's Fastest Women's Indoor Mile at the University of Michigan

Hope College's Ana Tucker clocked the fastest women's indoor mile in NCAA Division III this season on Saturday at the University of Michigan Invitational.

The senior from Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow) recorded a time of 4 minutes, 56.98 seconds in a field of 14 NCAA Division I runners and six unattached ones.

Tucker eclipsed Emily Konkus of Washington University, who posted a mile run of 4:57.18 at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Indiana) on Friday.

Michigan's Samantha Saenz topped the field on Saturday with a time of 4:46.40.

Tucker also was the top collegiate runner in the 3,000 meters by posting a time of 10:06.41.

Second in the nine-runner field, Tucker trailed only unattached Alsu Lenneman (9:48.75).
