Hood College announces Zechman, Taylor-Sparks lead women’s track and field at the Blue Marlin Invitational

Hood College's Tay Zechman (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) and Iiyana Taylor-Sparks (Indian Head, Md./Lackey) both  notched career bests, leading the women's track and field team at the Blue Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University. 

Career Bests  

• Zechman placed 10th in the shot put with a mark of 10.38 meters (34-0 3/4), which bested her previous career best of 9.87 meters (32-4 3/4). This career best also bumps her up to fourth all time in school history in the event. 
• Taylor-Sparks finished 11th in the long jump with a mark of 4.61 meters (15-1 1/2). That jump is the fifth best jump in Blazer history in that event.
