Hood College announces Zechman sets hammer mark at Rowan

Tay Zechman (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) broke the Hood College's hammer record for the second straight week to lead the women's track and field team to fourth at the Oscar Moore Invitational at Rowan University.
In the Record Book
- Zechman threw the hammer 41.11 meters (134-10) to finish fifth and broke her own school record from Apr. 1 at the Millersville Metrics. Zechman was also second in the javelin with a throw of 33.40m (109-7).
In the Field
- Castillo leapt 4.72m (15-6) to place fourth in the long jump. Taylor-Sparks was ninth at 4.24m (13-11).
On the Track
- Hood's 4x100-meter relay team of Iiyana Taylor-Sparks (Indian Head, Md./Lackey), Gloria Castillo (Puerto Cortes, Honduras/Meade (Md.)), Chloe McQuillen (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) and Shayna Hancock (Indian Head, Md./North Point) was second with a time of 54.10 seconds.
- In the 3,000-meter run, Maddie Arbaugh placed eighth in 12:44.0.
- Hancock's 1:15.90 took sixth in the 400-meter hurdles.
- Megan Pezenosky (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) ran a time of 1:07.28 to take seventh.
Team Scoring
- The Blazers' 31 points were fourth.
- Rowan captured the victory on its own track with 268.
