Hood College announces Zechman breaks hammer record at Gettysburg

Tay Zechman (Lebanon, Pa./Lebanon) broke the Hood College's hammer record for the third time this season to lead the women's track and field team to eighth at the Mason-Dixon Invitational at Gettysburg College. 


Record Keeping

  • Zechman threw the hammer 41.64 meters (136-7) to finish fourth and broke her own school record from Apr. 8 at the Oscar Moore Invitational. 

Highlights

  • Iiyana Taylor-Sparks (Indian Head, Md./Lackey) placed 10th in the long jump with a mark of 4.08m (13-4 3/4). The time is good for the fifth best mark in Blazer history. 
  • Aylene Noy (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) ran a time of 20:17.32 in the 5000-meter run and placed fifth. 

Notes

  • Hood placed eighth with 17 points
  • Messiah won the meet with a team score of 94 points.
