Holy Family University announces Smith Breaks School Record in 110m Hurdles; Faust Wins at Golden Ram Invitational

JoJo Smith (Kingston, Jamaica/Edwin Allen) broke the school record in the 110m hurdles, while Anthony Faust (Pennsauken, N.J./Bishop Eustace Preparatory School) won the 5000m as the HFU men's track & field team competed at West Chester's Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday. 

  • The 110m hurdle school record fell for the second weekend in a row, with Smith (CACC Championship standard 14.96) breaking the previous one by .01 seconds to place second
    • The previous record holder Terrence Jones (East Orange, N.J./William Allen/LCTI) (CACC Championship standard 15.05) crossed right behind him in third in the field of eight
  • Faust topped the field of 12 in the 5000m in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship standard and collegiate personal record (PR) 15:55.35
    •  Faust also ran a CACC Championship standard and collegiate PR. 4:14.22, in the 1500m to finish seventh out of 26, with Mike McGerry (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (4:30.66) placing in the top-half of the field and Dom Prestipino (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) (5:03.15) running a collegiate PR
  • All four Tigers – Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) (CACC Championship standard 6.54m), Jones (CACC Championship standard 6.39m), Ernest Robertson (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity) (6.03m) and Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) (5.99m) - to compete in the long jump marked in the top seven out of 18, with Pierre and Jones finishing second and fourth respectively
  • Pierre (1.97m) and Bowen (1.82m) both cleared CACC Championship standards in the high jump to place second and fourth in the field of 10
  • Luckie Tan (Delaware County, Pa./Penn Wood) posted the third fastest 100m time, a CACC Championship standard 11.17, amongst 22 entries, with Bowen (11.38) also crossing in the top 10
  • Jade Acevedo (Bronx, N.Y./Mount Saint Michael Academy) ran a CACC Championship standard, 51.61, in the 400m to place fifth out of 26, with Nafis Zollicoffer (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway West) (52.86) joining him in the top 10 
    • Acevedo (23.36) posted a top 10 finish in a field of 28 in the 200m too
  • Robertson marked at a CACC championship standard, 13.28m, in the triple jump, while Shymir Harris (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) marked at one, a collegiate PR 29.05m, in the hammer
  • Tyler Wesley (Hartford, Conn./Bloomfield) ran a collegiate outdoor PR, 2:03.07, in the 800m to cross 10th out of 25 entries
  • The 4x100m quartet of Ibrahim Forana (Darby, Pa./Upper Darby), Zollicoffer, Wesley and Acevedo combined for the second fastest time, 3:26.31, out of seven foursomes 
  • Hakeem Hall (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations Charter) ran a collegiate PR, 1:03.67, in the 400m hurdles, while Harris marked at one, 30.84m, in the discus
