Holy Family University announces Pierre Wins High Jump with NCAA Provisional; Four School Records Broken at Widener Invitational

Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) set an NCAA provisional to win the high jump, and he was joined by Luckie Tan (Delaware County, Pa./Penn Wood), Kouto Anyika (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennwood) and the 4x100m relay team in breaking school records at the Widener Invitational over the weekend.
Pierre now ranks 16th in Division II after clearing 2.07m to beat out 24 others, and he also topped the triple jump field of 10 and broke an eight-year-old school record to land second out of 48 in the long jump with respective Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship standards (CACC standard) of 14.40m and 6.90m.
Tan broke his own school record in the 100m, topping a field of 90 with a CACC standard time of 10.88, while Anyika broke a nine-year-old school record after running the 400m in 49.31 for a top 10 finish in the field of 73.
Tan was a member of the 4x100m relay team too, along with Nafis Zollicoffer (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway West), Skyler Salay (Burlington Township, N.J./Burlington Township) and Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College), who broke a five-year-old school record (43.17) to place second out of 12.
- Ernest Robertson (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity) (outdoor collegiate PR 13.92m) and Bowen (13.10m) finished second and fourth with CACC standards in the triple jump, with Robertson (collegiate PR 6.65m) landing fourth in the long jump as well
- Zollicoffer (collegiate PR 50.28) and Tyler Wesley (Hartford, Conn./Bloomfield) (collegiate PR 50.79) joined Anyika in running CACC standards in the 400m, with Brian Dietz (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (52.11) crossing in the top-half of the field and Ibrahim Forana (Darby, Pa./Upper Darby) (52.48) and Giovanni Griffin (Philadelphia, Pa./Franklin Towne Charter) (52.57) running collegiate personal records (PR)
- All four Tigers to compete in the 400m hurdles – Robertson (58.99), Vicente Velez (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (1:01.84), Hakeem Hall (Philadelphia, Pa./New Foundations Charter) (1:02.19) and Miguel Sanchez (Pleasantville, N.J./Pleasantville) (1:02.40) – set CACC Championship standards with collegiate PRs
- Anthony Faust (Pennsauken, N.J./Bishop Eustace Preparatory School) ran a CACC standard and collegiate PR, 15:48.79, to place in the top-half of the 5000m field of 115
- Shymir Harris (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) marked at a CACC standards and collegiate PRs in both the shot put (11.59m) and hammer (31.36m), finishing in the top-half of the field of 51 in the latter
- Salay placed in the top third of both the 100m (collegiate PR 11.51) and long jump (6.05m)
- Jade Acevedo (Bronx, N.Y./Mount Saint Michael Academy) (22.93) and Miguel Sanchez (Pleasantville, N.J./Pleasantville) (24.09) both ran collegiate PRs in the 200m, with Acevedo crossing 27th out of 93
- Alex Pawlowski (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) (2:01.58) ran a collegiate PR in the 800m, and Dom Prestipino (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) (25.55m) marked at one in the javelin
