Holy Family University announces Pierre Breaks Own School Record with NCAA Provisional in Men’s Track & Field’s Regular Season Finale

Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) broke own his own school record in the triple jump as the HFU men's track & field team got its final prep for next weekend's East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship at the Fasttrack National Invitational hosted at Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday. 

Pierre broke his previous school record of 14.80m by .05m to mark second out of 31 with an NCAA provisional, trailing only a competitor from Division I St. Francis (N.Y.). 

  • Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) posted a top-five finish in the long jump after marking at 6.95m, with Pierre placing eighth out of 26 at 6.79m
  • Skyler Salay (Burlington Township, N.J./Burlington Township) (6.25m) and Ernest Robertson (Miami, Fla./Palmer Trinity) (6.21m) both placed in the top 10, out of 41, of the college division long jump
  • All four Tigers to run the 400m crossed in the top-half of the field, highlighted by Kouto Anyika (Philadelphia, Pa./Pennwood) clocking the seventh fastest time, among 97 entries
    • Nafis Zollicoffer (Philadelphia, Pa./Parkway West) (50.68) and Brian Dietz (Philadelphia, Pa./Father Judge) (52.22) both ran collegiate personal records (PRs), with Jade Acevedo (Bronx, N.Y./Mount Saint Michael Academy) crossing in 52.25
  • Salay cleared the sixth highest height, 1.96m, out of 28 entries in the high jump, with Terrence Jones (East Orange, N.J./William Allen/LCTI) also finishing in the top-half of the field
  • Jones missed out on the 60m hurdles final by one position, as his time of 8.44 was the ninth fastest amongst 32 entries
  • Tyler Wesley (Hartford, Conn./Bloomfield) finished 23rd out of 84 in the 800m with a collegiate PR 2:00.35, with Alex Pawlowski (Allentown, Pa./William Allen) (2:03.02) also placing in the in the top-half of the field
  • Shymir Harris (Philadelphia, Pa./Academy at Palumbo) marked at a collegiate PR 10.96 in the shot put
