Holy Family University announces Best and Pierre Earn USTFCCCA Regional Honors

Holy Family's Kadedra Best and Nishorn Pierre (Grenada/Jamaica College) have both earned 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Regional Awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA).
Best was named the East Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year, while Pierre was tabbed the East Region Men's Field Athlete of the Year.
Best, in her third year at HFU, was instrumental in the HFU men capturing the program's first-ever East Coast Conference (ECC) Championship, as her hurdlers and jumpers accumulated 84 of the team's 143 points.
Additionally, she coached both Pierre and Javon Bowen (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) to NCAA Provisionals.
Pierre would go on to earn All-America Honors in the high jump at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, months after doing so at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
The Grenada native finished the indoor season atop the region and fifth nationally in the high jump at 2.18m, while also ranking second the region in both long jump (6.94m) and triple jump (14.97), the latter of which was another NCAA Provisional that ranked 20th nationally.
