Hilbert Hawks announces AMCC Announced 2023 Softball All-Conference Awards

HAMBURG, N.Y. - The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released the 2023 Softball All-Conference Team and Award Winners today.

Mount Aloysius College's Sarah Henninger was named both the Player of the Year and the Newcomer of the Year.  Penn State Altoona's Madison Peters was voted as the Pitcher of the Year and Mount Aloysius College's Jeff Bicko was named the AMCC Coach of the Year.

No. 3 Penn State Altoona made a tremendous run through the AMCC Softball Championship Tournament. The tournament needed all 11 games as Altoona roared back through the loser's bracket and beat No. 1 Penn State Behrend, giving Behrend their first loss in the tourney. Since both teams lost only once in the double elimination format, the 11th game was needed to determine the conference champion. Altoona found their swings in the second game and upset Behrend, 9-4, for the win. 

The Hilbert Hawks went 0-14 in AMCC action and closed the season 0-30.
