Two Greyhounds made it through the initial rounds and continue their quest for the championship

The tournament began on March 6 at Hilliard Darby High School, according to the event's official results. Two Greyhounds, Cary Brown (165 lbs) and Beckett Randall (190 lbs), secured decisive victories and will move forward in the Championship bracket. Meanwhile, Cohen Ortiz (120 lbs), Chase Van Order (138 lbs), Elijah Gard (144 lbs), Max Casey (150 lbs), and Tristan Coyle (157 lbs) lost their opening matches and entered the Consolation brackets. Jonathan McClelland (285 lbs) defeated Lamon Houston from Westland but was eliminated in his next bout by Braylon Wright from Dublin Coffman, according to official tournament brackets.

Brown and Randall are set to compete next in the Championship bracket, while their teammates continue in the Consolations, as reported by tournament organizers.

This performance marks an improvement over the previous season. In 2024-25, only Matt Palmer reached the State tournament for Grove City but was eliminated in the second round by Tyrel Miller from St. Edward, according to official records.

The Grove City wrestling team continues its efforts as competition progresses.
