Dartmouth College announces Baseball Home-Opening Series Against Penn Pushed Back a Day
From March 29, 2023 post.
HANOVER, N.H. — Dartmouth will have to wait a day to host its first baseball games of the 2023 season.
The three-game series between the Big Green and Penn this weekend has been adjusted due to the predicted weather forecast for the Upper Valley. The two teams will now play a doubleheader on Sunday, April 2, at 11:30 a.m., followed by the third and final game on Monday at noon.
Dartmouth (1-16, 0-3 Ivy) has struggled while playing its first 17 games on the road, including last weekend's Ivy-opening series at Princeton, which the Tigers swept from the Big Green. It was just the second time an Ivy League squad has swept Dartmouth in the last 34 series dating back to the 2016 season. Penn enters the game with a 10-10 overall mark and 1-2 record in the Ancient Eight.
The Big Green have had plenty of success at Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park since the renovation in 2009 with a record of 119-50 (.704) at the venue.
All three games will be streamed live on ESPN+ featuring Wayne Young '72 and Brett Franklin calling the action with live stats available through the DartmouthSports.com website.
