College of the Holy Cross announces Men's Track and Field Finishes First Day of Patriot League Championship

The Holy Cross men's track and field team wrapped up the first day competition at the Patriot League Championship on Friday. The Crusaders sit in seventh with six points.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Junior Mike Mazzocca qualified for the finals in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.35, winning the event.
- Freshman Liam Lyons finished the 1500m run with a qualifying time of 3:53.66, placing tenth.
- Sophomore Aidan Bergin set a personal best in the 100m dash with a time of 10.96.
- Senior Jack Welch finished the 800m with a time of 1:52.67, a personal best. He was followed by Rigoberto Alfonso, setting a personal best of 1:54.01.
- Senior Sean Flaherty qualified for the finals in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.64.
- The 4x800 relay with Welch, Lyons, senior Kyle VanDermark, and Alfonso earned seventh with a time of 7:41.82.
- Junior Will McAlpine earned fifth in the javelin with a throw of 58.15m.
