College of the Holy Cross announces Men's Track and Field Competes at Friar Invitational

The Holy Cross men's track and field team opened up the weekend at the Friar Invitational on Friday.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS:
- Junior Matthew Conway claimed a season-best in the 400m with a time of 51.81, only .01 seconds away from his personal best.
- Junior Rigoberto Alfonso set a personal best in the 800m, crossing the finish line at 1:55.71, earning third. Freshman Liam Lyons made his collegiate debut in 800m, earning fifth with a time of 1:56.48.
- Senior Jack Welch set a personal record in the mile, finishing at 4:17.39.
- Freshman Jack Ryan represented the Crusaders in the first day of the Merrimack Alumni Invitational, earning third place in the javelin with a mark of 47.55m.
NEXT UP:
- The Holy Cross men's track and field team returns to action of Saturday, April 15. The team will travel to North Andover, Mass. to compete in the Merrimack Alumni Invitational.
