CCNY's Yassine Sakhi Named CUNYAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week
The City College of New York junior guard Yassine Sakhi has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, presented by Healthfirst, the league announced Monday.

Sakhi earned his second Player of the Week nod after leading the Beavers to back-to-back victories last week. At home against Lehman, he netted a game-high 22 points in the win, adding three rebounds, three assists, two blocks, and two steals. In the Beaver's win on the road over Baruch, Sakhi led all scorers with 19 points, along with four rebounds and two assists.
Sakhi currently leads the conference in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per game, and shoots a conference-best .47.1 from the floor.
The Beavers are currently riding a three-game winning streak and are off to a 3-0 start in CUNYAC play.
Next, the Beavers return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 11, hosting Medgar Evers College at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
