VESTAL, N.Y. - Six teams and their fan bases will converge at the Bearcats Baseball Complex beginning Wednesday when Binghamton baseball hosts the 2023 America East Championship. The tournament features at least eight games spanning four days with the champion carrying the America East banner into the NCAA Regionals.

The reigning conference champion Bearcats are the No. 3 seed and joining them will be No. 1 Maine, No. 2 UMBC, No. 4 Bryant, No. 5 UMass Lowell and No. 6 NJIT.

The tournament begins with single-elimination first-round games on Wednesday. Fourth-seeded Bryant and fifth-seeded UMass Lowell will kick off the tournament at 1 p.m. The Bearcats and NJIT will follow at 5 p.m. The two winners will advance to the traditional four-team, double-elimination tournament that will be played Thursday through Saturday. The bracket will re-seed following the opening day with No. 1 Maine playing the lower-seeded winner of the first two games on Thursday at 11 a.m. and No. 2 UMBC playing the other winner at 3 p.m

The winners of the opening games will face off in the second of two games on Friday with the winner of that game advancing to the Saturday afternoon championship game.

All games will air on ESPN+ domestically and AmericaEast.TV outside of the United States

Binghamton last hosted the tournament in 2019, when it finished runnerup. Last year, BU won the championship hosted by Maine and advanced to the NCAA Regionals at Stanford. Under longtime coach Tim Sinicki, BU has won five America East titles (2009, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2022).

Tournament tickets are on sale here. Individual day tickets, which are valid for all games played that day, are $12 for adults and $6 for youth 14 & under. All-tournament passes are available for $25.
