Auburn university announces Baseball's Clark Collects GSC Player of the Week Honors
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Auburn University at Montgomery baseball player Kasey Clark was named the Gulf South Conference player of the week on Tuesday as announced by the league office.
Clark hit .526 for the week, going 10-for-19 at the plate for the Warhawks. He added two home runs, a triple, and a double during a 4-0 week for the Warhawks. Clark posted 12 RBIs and scored five runs as well against just one strikeout.
A Pelham, Alabama native, went 4-for-5 with a triple, a homer, a pair of singles, and four RBIs in a 15-4 win against Tuskeege University. He followed that up by going 5-for-14 in a three-game sweep over Mississippi College with a two-run home run, a two-run single, an RBI single, and a bases-clearing double.
Clark and the rest of the Warhawks return to the diamond on Thursday, April 6 to begin a nonconference series against Saint Leo University. The doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday with a single game to follow on Saturday at 1 p.m.
