Arkansas Tech University announces Golden Suns wrap up day one of GAC Championships with four All-GAC honors in the 10K

SEARCY, Ark. - The Arkansas Tech women's track & field team closes out the opening day of the Great American Conference Championships with four earning All-GAC honors in the 10000m race.

RESULTS

Crossing the finish line first for the Golden Suns and earning the second place overall finish in the race was Ashlynn Mays who clocked in with a 37:36.30 overall time. Her time in the race also earned Mays a spot on the All-GAC First Team for the event. 

Following behind Mays in third place overall was Marcie Cudworth who came across the finish with a 38:01.81 total time. Cudworth also earned All-GAC First Team honors for her performance in the race. 

The next member of the Golden Suns to finish was Libby Booth who finished with a 38:29.28 total time in the race. Booth's finish in sixth place overall earns her a place on the All-GAC Second Team list. 

Right behind Booth was Mackenzie Epperson who clocked in with a 38:33.68 total time in the 10000m race. Her seventh place overall finish earned her All-GAC Second Team honors.

Closing out the list of athletes competing for the Golden Suns in the 10000m race was Mandy Sykora who finished with a 40:13.48 total time in the event. 

UP NEXT
The Golden Suns return to action tomorrow as they take on day two of the GAC Championships. First event of the day will be the 800m race and is set to begin at 5:50 p.m. tomorrow evening in Searcy.
