RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Tech University head women's cross country and track and field coach Brock Hime is stepping down from his position at Tech to return to his alma mater, Little Rock, where he will be the associate head coach for cross country and assistant track and field coach for distance.

Hime spent four years at Tech as the head women's cross country coach and elevated the program to heights not seen before. In each of his final three years as head cross country coach, Hime helped guide the Golden Suns to runner-up finishes at the GAC Championship meet each year, marking the highest team finish in program history.

In terms of individual awards for his athletes in cross country, Hime's runners garnered All-GAC honors 17 times with eight of those earning First Team honors.

After his initial year as head cross country coach, Hime helped bring track and field into the mix, further bolstering the strength of the cross country program.

In its three seasons of sponsoring track and field under Hime, the Golden Suns, primarily through the distance events, were competitive at the GAC Championship meet and finished fourth each of the last two seasons.

Individually, the Golden Suns posted All-GAC marks in five events and totaled 22 all-conference honors. Nearly half of those plaudits were First Team honors and include an individual conference championship in the 3000-meter steeplechase.

A national search for the next head coach for Golden Suns cross country and track and field will begin immediately.
