Alderson Broaddus University announces Shelton Bass Named to All-Region Team

Philippi, W.Va- Prior to the NCAA DII National Championship, the USTFCCCA released the 2023 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field All-Region teams. 

Sophomore, Shelton Bass was named to the team after an amazing indoor season where he finished his year as the 29th fastest 400 runner in all of DII. Bass was the number two 400 runner in the entire region. His time of 47.96 ranks as the fastest indoor 400 time in MEC history, and sits alone in Alderson Broaddus University history as well. 

"This is great to see that someone is able to be recognized from here in little 'ole Philippi. The work that has been put in day in and day out is outstanding, and I love that it isn't going unnoticed" said Head Coach Paris Vaughan. 

"The top-5 individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region distinction, in addition to each member of the region's top-3 relay teams. The regions used for this award – Atlantic, Central, East, Midwest, South, South Central, Southeast and West – match those used during the cross country season." United Sates Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
