NEW ORLEANS – The Alcorn State women's tennis team could not overpower the University of New Orleans as it dropped 6-1 to UNO on Tuesday at the Privateer Tennis Court. Following the loss, the Lady Braves fall to 2-8 on the season while the Privateers improve to 6-3.

New Orleans began the match by earning the doubles point after Didi Bredberg and Raluca Puscas first defeated Mikaela Konstantinova and Kimberley Kaome 6-0 on court two. The Privateers then clinched the opening point when Tristanne Dechoux and Laurie Barendse topped Tangia Riley-Codrington and Nicole Kells 6-1 on court one. Duo Ana Kouchnareva and Ksenia Reznitskaya completed their game against Jaime Edwards and Aizat Zholdakayeva to take court three, 6-4.

Konstantinova pushed her competitor to extra sets, eventually falling 6-3, 3-6, and 4-6 to Kouchnareva on court three. Kaome also had a close set but ultimately lost to Dechoux 7-6, 1-6, 1-6 on court four. And finally, Kells dropped 6-1, 3-6, 4-6 on court 5.
