Alabama A & M University announces Women’s Tennis Falls at Home to Troy

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. -- Alabama A&M women's tennis dropped a midweek non-conference match against Troy, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Alabama A&M Tennis Courts.

The Bulldogs (4-6) dropped their third straight match to close out the month of February, while Troy (6-1) picked up their third straight win.

Alabama A&M took the first doubles match of the day, with Jasmine Boyd (Marion, Ind.) and Yana Dhamija (Gurugram, India) taking a 6-2 win at court one, however the pairings of Camila Ruiz Diaz (Asuncion, Paraguay) / Ariadna Ondo Cerezo (Valencia, Spain) and Alicia Owegi (Nairobi, Kenya) / Neha Ghare (Pune, India) both fell 6-3 to their respective opponents, as the Trojans took the doubles point.

Singles saw the Bulldogs continue to struggle, as Owegi fell first at court five 6-1, 6-3, followed by Ondo Cerezo who. fell on court six 6-1, 6-2. Boyd dropped her individual match on court one not long after, also falling in straight sets 6-1, 6-4.

Alabama A&M dropped games at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots next with losses from Ruiz Diaz and Ghare respectively, while Dhamija her matchup to three sets after winning the first set 6-4, before falling over the next two by scores of 6-3 and 10-4 to close out the match.
