Adelphi University Athletics announces Track Wraps Up Day One at Colonial Relays

Williamsburg, VA - The Adelphi University track and field program wrapped up day one of the 57th Annual Colonial Relays, hosted by William and Mary on Friday with several personal bests throughout the results.
Grace Minikel placed second overall in the open 5000 meter run, hitting a sub-18 minute mark for the first time in her career at 17:57.06.
In the high jump, Matthew Wenz cleared 1.89 meters on his second attempt to tie for second in the field, behind the winner out of George Mason who cleared 1.95 on his final run. This is a new career-best in his outdoor career and he tied with an athlete from Bucknell.
Back on the track, Christopher Holt put up a 10.59 finish in the 100-meter dash, for fourth in the field, just .07 off an NCAA Division II Provisional mark in the specialty. He also managed to place fifth against competition in the 200 meter dash, clocking in at 21.53.
The squad will remain in Virginia for Saturday competition that features invite-only in the events of women's and women's hurdles, the women's 800 as well as the 4x100, 4x200, MDR and 4x400 relays.
