Adelphi University Athletics announces Moore Steals First NE10 Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week Award

Mansfield, Mass. - Kicking off the outdoor season with honors, Kyria Moore has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the league office on Tuesday. 

Moore opened the 2023 outdoor season with an incredible mark in the hammer throw, launching the best distance in the East Region and fourth best in Division II at the Monmouth meet. Her longest mark toss in the competition came on her final attempt when she threw 58.23 meters.

Both Amari Johnson and Katherine Marsh were included on the weekly Honor Roll for their efforts. 

Johnson ran the best 100 hurdles race in the East Region over the weekend, as the team competed at the 27th Annual Monmouth University Track & Field Season Opener. Her time of 14.48 was second overall and just .24 off a provisional mark for Division II. Marsh ran the best time in the 1500 meter race in the region clocking in at 4:42.34 to place second in the field behind an athlete from Division I Siena.
