Adelphi University announces Provisional Marks Highlight Virginia Challenge

Charlottesville, VA - A couple of provisional marks highlighted the track and field squad's trip to Virginia over the weekend, as the program sent seven entries compared to last year's three.
Christopher Holt missed the 100m finals by one second, putting up an NCAA qualifying mark of 10.52. He also competed in the 200 meter preliminaries falling .29 short of a personal best in the specialty to place ninth overall.
Also competing for the men were David Williams and Bryan Combary in the 110 hurdles. Williams came in at 14.87 for a new PR to earn 17th and Combary posted a 15.30 with a hit hurdle to close in at 15.30 for 19th in the field.
On the women's side, Isabel and Katherine Marsh raced to a 13th and 15th place finish in the 800 meter race, with the latter earning a spot inside the top-35 for an NCAA provisional mark with her time of 2:11.31.
Amari Johnson's time of 14.34 seconds in the 100 hurdles was a personal best and a provisional mark in Division II that puts her in the top-50 nationally. At Virginia, she was 11th in her heat (and top-D2 performer) eventually placing 17th among all comeptition.
Another hurdle competitor, Gabrielle Griffin raced to a 26th place finish in the 400 hurdles, posting a time of 1:06.12, which is three seconds shy of her personal best from the season which sees her at no. 2 in the Northeast-10 Conference.
The squad will split again this weekend as accepted entries to penn Relays will begin Thursday, April 27 and other members of the team will go to the Lions Invite hosted by TCNJ.
