Adelphi University announces Minikel, Marsh and Toland Take Home NE10 Academic All-Conference Honors

Mansfield, Mass. - The Northeast-10 Conference has released its Winter Academic All-Conference teams for the 2022-23 season, and Adelphi's Grace Minikel, Isabel Marsh, and Lauren Toland comprised three of the twelve spots. 

Minikel adds another notch to her academic resume, after making the NE10 Academic All-Conference Team for cross country back in the fall.

Minikel brought home many Top 10 finishes during the indoor season, finishing second in the distance-medley relay at the Spartan Invitational (12:39.95), as well as fourth in the 3,000 at the Ramapo College Opener (10:38.72.).

She rounded out her season at the NE10 Indoor Championships, where she finished fourth in the 3000 (10:46.23), fifth in the 5,000 (18:58.75) and helped her team finish first in the 4x800, along with Marsh (9:38.22). Minikel also has two D2 Academic Achievement Awards in her time at Adelphi ('20-21, '21-22.)

Marsh makes her second Academic All-Conference team, earning her first nod in 2022 for the outdoor season. This adds to what was a tremendous indoor season that she capped off with a USTFCCCA All-America honor in the 800-meter run.

Marsh medaled at NE10's with a second-place finish in the 800 (2:16.69). She has spent six semesters on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, and earned the D2 Academic Achievement Award for the 2021-22 academic year. 

Toland too has made the NE10 Academic Honor Roll every semester she's been at Adelphi, including making the Academic Excellence tier in Spring 2021 (4.0+ semester GPA).

Specializing in the pole vault since she started competing, the Rhode Island native placed first at the William Sutherland III Invitational, clearing a height of 2.80 meters. She additionally placed seventh at the Ramapo College Opener (2.60 meters) and fifth at the NE10 Indoor Championships (2.73 meters).

On top of six Academic Distinction semesters on the NE10 Academic Honor Roll, she also has two D2 Academic Achievement Awards ('20-21, '21-22).
