Adelphi University announces Men's 400 Free Relay, Nenadich Earn NE10 of the Week Honors
Mansfield, Mass. - After a three-meet week, the Adelphi University swimming and diving programs are heading into championship season with Northeast-10 Weekly awards.
Skyler Nenadich has been named NE10 Women's Diver of the Week for the second time this season and the men's 400 freestyle relay has earned Men's Relay Team of the Week for the first time. The quartet was previously honored for their efforts in the 200 free relay.
Nenadich rebounded from her second place finish a day earlier on the one-meter board to score 251.08 to earn points for the women's squad against Southern Conn., nearly 20 points higher than the next score. She doubled up on a three-meter crown for the second day in a row, putting up 233.69 against Bentley and 215.09 versus the Owls.
The group of Cooper Rivers, Brian Klotsche, Timothy Yeung and Daniel Dalrymple put up a time of 3:19.30 in the lanes against Southern Connecticut, besting their quartet by .05 seconds to take first in the event.
Adelphi will use the next several weeks to prepare for the NE10 Championship, scheduled to begin on Thursday, February 9 at the WPI Sports and Recreation Center. Last year, three different individuals and one relay team earned a spot on the podium, with Jason Rosen leading the way with a gold medal in the 100 butterfly. Nenadich medaled in both diving events and Rivers was responsible for one silver and two bronze finishes, alongside being named NE10 Rookie of the Year.
Yeung, Rivers, Rosen and Klotsche placed third in the 800 freestyle relay at last year's event.
