Adam State University announces Grizzlies conclude season at 2023 RMAC Tournament

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The Adams State University women's golf team closed out the campaign with the 2023 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on Tuesday (Apr. 25) at Boulder City Golf Club on the Desert Hawk Course.


The Grizzlies stayed steady as the fired a 381 to finish the tournament at 1,076 for their three rounds. The Grizzlies opened the tournament tied with Black Hills State as both squads fired a 343 before Adams State took a two-stroke lead after Monday's action. The Grizzlies shot a 352 while the Yellow Jackets fired a 354. The final round for the Grizzlies saw their No. 3 golfer, Katie Haag not compete and they fired a 381, eight behind Black Hills for the finish.

Anna Branscome was the top Grizzly over the weekend as she finished the three-round tournament with a score of 250. Keona Weirick finished second for the Grizzlies with a score of 267. She and Branscome finished the opening round with identical cards of 81 before Branscome posted scores of 82 in round two and 87 in round three. Weirick finished with scores of 90 and 96, respectively.

Gracie Potter finished third for the Grizzlies in a tie for 54th place.  She carded a three-day total of 279 with individual rounds of 93, 90 and 96.

Paige Wright finished in 56th place with a three-day total of 295. She opened up with a 103 but then took 13 strokes off on her second day to be the third Grizzly to turn in a 90 before posting a 102 on Tuesday.

Hagg finished in 60th place with a score of 88 on Sunday and 95 on Monday.
