University of Idaho announces Vinceri Finishes Third at Red Rocks Invite

SEDONA, Ariz. – Yvonne Vinceri finished tied for third at one-under for the tournament to lead Idaho to an 11th-place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational at the Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona.
 
Vinceri scored a two-under 70 on round one, a two-over 74 in round two and a one-under 71 in round three to climb the leaderboard from fifth after the first round to the third spot after the second round.
 
Baipor Khunsri finished T57 at 15-over (231) for the tournament. Jenna Bruggeman finished T58 (232), but recorded an eagle in the third round, Vicky Tsai was 66th (233). Kyndall Newman finished in 81st at 236.
 
The Vandals put up their strongest round in the first with a seven-over 295 as to finish in fourth-place after round one. The Vandals finished the tournament at 905 (+41).
 
The strong field included 20 teams from around the country. Navy won the tournament at +16 for the weekend. The Vandals finished behind a pair of Big Sky Schools in Weber State and host Northern Arizona, but ahead of Eastern Washington, Northern Colorado and Montana.
 
Idaho next competes at the Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes golf Club on April 3-4.
